Students, there is some method to our madness in AP Photo. We have been playing ping pong this week, and, by the time you read this, we will have identified some rather reliable ping pong players--they keep the ball in motion for a sustained amount of time! Here is your related assignment:
1. Check out a camera.
2. Write your name on a scrap of paper and photograph it so I can verify who takes the subsequent photos.
3. Set the mode dial to M and shutter speed to 1/15th of a second. I will help you. Take a picture of the orange ping pong ball while it is in play. You are capturing motion. You should see the orange color trailing the ball, and the photo should resemble the photo below left:

4. Set the shutter speed on 1/1000 of a second. Take a picture of the orange ping pong ball while it is in play. You are stopping motion. You should see the ball hanging in the air like in the photo above, right.
5. Show me your successful photos on the camera. I will check your name off as having completed the assignment.
