AP Photo students, so far we have studied the following Principles of Design: Balance, Unity, and Contrast. The Principles of Design are how we organize the Elements of Art (Line, Shape, Space, Color, Texture, and Value) in our artworks. Now we will turn to another Principle of Design, Emphasis.  Copy the questions below into a OneDrive document, and answer them.  Due Thursday, 2-18-16.

1. Write an art-related definition for emphasis.

2. List three ways artists can achieve emphasis in an artwork.

3. Talk with students at your table and decide what the artist is emphasizing in Figure 1 above. Write your common answer here.

4. In Figure 2, what is emphasized by this artist and what do you think it means?

5. Emphasis can be placing special significance on something. Describe something you have placed special significance on.

Concentration Statement, part 1, due in your AP digital portfolio Thursday, February 18, 2016.
